SPFA and SFWW Announce Alignment to Advance Contractor Company Accreditation Across the Spray Foam Industry

The Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA) and Spray Foam World Wide (SFWW) are pleased to announce a new strategic alignment designed to strengthen professionalism, safety, and technical competence across the spray polyurethane foam industry.

Since 2012, SPFA's Accreditation Program has served as the industry's benchmark for contractor excellence. Accreditation is a rigorous, third-party verified process that evaluates a contractor's commitment to safety protocols, installation best practices, and overall operational excellence. For more than a decade, Accredited contractor companies have distinguished themselves in a competitive marketplace by demonstrating to building owners, specifiers, and code officials alike that their work meets a consistently high standard.

SFWW has long championed the view that the spray foam industry must raise its collective level of competence to remain competitive and credible in an evolving construction landscape. SFWW's leadership recognizes that verified knowledge, demonstrated skill, and professionalism are no longer optional differentiators — they are essential to the industry's continued growth and reputation. SPFA shares this view and welcomes SFWW's voice in advancing that message to contractors across its network.

Through this collaboration, SPFA and SFWW will work together to:

  • Raise awareness of SPFA’s Contractor Company Accreditation Program among SFWW's contractor network and the broader spray foam community.
  • Highlight the value Accreditation brings to contractors seeking a genuine competitive edge — including credibility with customers, differentiation in bidding, and reduced risk on the jobsite.
  • Explore joint educational and promotional initiatives that reinforce shared standards of safety, quality, and professionalism industry-wide.
  • Provide contractor companies with clearer pathways to pursue Accreditation as a mark of verified competence.

“SPFA's Accreditation Program has stood for operational excellence in this industry for well over a decade,” said SPFA President Corey Poepping. “We're glad to work alongside SFWW, whose network shares our conviction that raising the bar on competence benefits every contractor, every project, and the industry as a whole.”

“Our industry's long-term success depends on contractors being able to prove — not just claim — their knowledge and skill,” said SFWW Co-Founder Bill Bilben. “SPFA's Accreditation Program is the established, credible framework for doing exactly that, and we're proud to help bring more contractors into the fold.”

Details on the virtues of spray foam Accreditation, SPFA’s ISO-17024 Compliant Professional Certification Program (PCP), as well as criteria for contractor companies to become Accredited can be found by visiting foamitright.org. Additionally, representatives from SPFA and SFWW are expected to review this groundbreaking opportunity with attendees of SFWW’s Carnival & Knowledge Fair July 24-25, 2026 at the Mall of America in Minnesota.
